Recently the temperature in Belgium has dropped a lot and it´s the perfect timing for this long trench coat.
I love wearing a bright color dress underneath this long trench because the surprise won´t be revealed until the trench is unbuttoned. Isn´t it mysterious? :P
Days have passed by in a blink. It is about one year since I moved to Belgium.
Remembering moving here in October last year, I was already wrapped in the thickest winter jacket.
Slowly I finally got more used to the weather and the lifestyle here.
I feel forever grateful that I had the opportunity to live and work in Europe with my lovely boyfriend and a bunch of nice & fun colleagues.
Experiencing a different culture always makes me grow and broaden my knowledge.
The first culture shock I had in Belgium was that I discovered my Mandarin and English language skills were not enough to get me around the country.
Plus the fact that European working style is far different from Taiwanese and Americans.
Instead of judging different ways in doing things, it was important to stay open-minded in order to adjust myself and adapt to the culture.
Having lived and worked in the United States, Taiwan, and Belgium, there are often time some interesting findings in my daily routines.
I love that in the beginning of every move, I had to start over again in the new place, such as simple things like finding a suitable hair dresser.
I realized whatever I have learned or accomplished in the previous country might not be useful in the new country.
And this process makes me start learning from zero and stay humble.
The most critical thing is being able to combine advantages found from every culture to grow as an individual.
